We greeted the day with different interpretations of breakfast: some have become classics in their own cultures and been adapted into others.

Americans, for instance, prepare a flurry of cereals such as corn flakes, oatmeal, porridge and grits. They like to linger over blueberry pancakes, waffles, and French toast, or settle down with a warm bagel or doughnut and brewed coffee. They also have bacon, smoked sausages, and patties.

For Filipinos, we have pork meat with noodles and vegetables (batchoy), arroz caldo (soupy rice with chicken) and sopas (elbow pasta with sausage and vegetable) to warm the stomach. But it is rice reincarnated as sinangag (fried rice), served with daing (dried fish), longganisa (local sausage), tocino (marinated pork meat with a variety of flavors), and the like. That comprises the complete Filipino breakfast. Often, the spread includes an "ulam" (viand) such as paksiw (fish with vinegar) or adobo (Filipinos all time favorite). For simple Filipino breakfast, pan-de-sal and coffee will do.

I was at the supermarket earlier, and as I entered the main entrance, the two ladies came over me and asked if it is okay that they would ask a few minutes of my time. I had to ask back if what it is all about because I need to be in a hurry. Well, the ladies just wanted me to try their product, which is good for everyone's health. It’s oatmeal, a food high in soluble fiber.

Yeah, I understand that fiber is good for our health, and fiber is classified as either soluble or insoluble. Soluble fiber has been shown to help lower blood cholesterol while insoluble fiber may help reduce the risk of colon and rectal cancer. Foods high in soluble fiber include oat bran, oatmeal, beans, peas, citrus fruits and apple pulp. While foods high in insoluble fiber include whole-wheat breads, wheat cereals, wheat barn, cabbage, carrots, and apple skin. Anyway, I didn't buy the oatmeal, and it is very seldom that I buy oatmeal. But it is pretty good. Maybe next time, after all it is good!

How about you, do you like oatmeal? How do you like it?

There are times when I can’t avoid having leftovers. Alright, almost all the time. I do that because I have a young child who always demand my attention. In short, I don't have a lot of time to cook new meals every time. Also, when the husband fails to come home at mealtime or when the husband tag me to eat out during untimely occasions when food had been prepared at home, food may be left over for the next meal. I know it is not good if I throw away the food, but what can I do with that? Well, I never discouraged. I am not a good chef, but I tried my best that I could prepare a new dish from the leftover foods. I have learned this from my experience and it is really effective. You just have to remember that when dealing with leftovers, you have to change their form. A dish of reheated vegetables tastes flat and is devoid of appetite appeal. But wash them and make them into golden omelet, and you have something for the family. To throw away the food is a waste, so be creative and use your imagination to create a new dish from the leftover foods.

Honestly, what do you think when it comes to pretzels? Alright, you may think the traditional pretzels to which it can be located under snacks/junk foods or something to munch on. Oops you got to recheck if you think such, that's because what you saw are products from Pretzel Crisps® Deli Style which can be found in deli area of the grocery store. And yes, different texture and taste from the traditional ones.

It has seven (7) different flavors, to names are: Sesame, Buffalo Wings, Original, Garlic Parmesan, Everything, Chipotle Cheddar and Jalapeño Jack. For me, I like most the Everything flavor. Though all are salty but I eat it with something sweet like that of peanut butter. I also like to try the Pretzel Crisps® Deli Style recipes that I saw.

I think this is a great to give as a gift to your mother or friends who loves cooking, as a celebration of Thanksgiving or a way of thanking her in any way when it comes to foods that gives impact on you. :-)

What do you think? And so, Happy Thanksgiving then! All the best!

Pizza is the easiest way to eat when you are in a hurry and this is most light food whenever you go. Before, I do not like eating pizza but now I am used to this food, actually it is now one of my favorite foods. Pizza has a lot of flavors but in my taste every flavor gives different taste and I can do accept it all. After giving birth of Sam, I need to watch out my weight. So far, I maintain my figure not but still I am really very careful on what to eat and drink. I am not super health conscious but it is better to be safe right?

Anyway, if you live here in United States pizza is available everywhere! This serves as the food for everybody but just to tell you, I am loving with rice still, haha! Rice is forever be the main course in a day. You can call me a rice girl, I will not complain about it! Wink.

Time to have pizza . Let us eat and have some slice of pizza. Yumm!
